"The Dave Creasy Memorial 6 is a unique event offering Men, Women and Youth the chance to race a full 2 day Madison programme. It is great to see a relatively new event experiencing so much success that they are able to expand into this new format and I am thrilled to be a part of it.
The chance to race two Olympic velodromes in one event is really cool. Riders will have to adapt from one track to the other, but it should provide some spectacular racing. Each track offers its own great appeal, the Lee Valley VeloPark is fondly remembered by many for success at the Olympic games, and Herne Hill is a place rich in heritage, which makes both places outstanding venues.
The event feels very much like a real 6 day event, with the crowd so close to the riders and the Euro-pop playing, its great to have an event like this in England, I cant wait to see it take place in September"
The 6th edition of the Dave Creasy Six will take place on Saturday 10th & Sunday 11th September 2016. For the second time many of the categories will be run over two days of racing during these two days, the event will visit both of london's iconic olympic velodromes, Lee Valley VeloPark on saturday night (2012 Olympics) and the historic Herne Hill Velodrome Sunday (1948 olympics) The event honours the memory of Herne Hill stalwart and popular coach Dave Creasy. Dave loved the Ghent Six’s, hence the theme of this event, which is organized by VC Londres, the club he helped establish. The 6 hour programme includes racing for youth riders, followed by the showcase, crowd-pleasing madison events, and non-madison support races. This is a packed weekend of racing with a real party atmosphere and is a big hit with spectators. Whats more, entry for spectators is just £2 on the door which covers both days! You can expect food, drink, a cheesy ‘90s soundtrack, an excitable MC and podium girls, and of course excellent racing entertainment. It all makes for an authentic weekend, Belgie style.
